Ann Curry

Ann Curry has worked as an journalist for over more than 45 years. Her focus is on natural disasters and war zones. Curry has written about the conflicts in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo and the Central African Republic. Ann Curry (born on November 19th, 1956 in the city of the city of Agana) was an American anchor, reporter on television and journalist. Curry was renowned for her coverage of human rights issues in war-stricken countries as well as on natural disasters. Curry was the child of a U.S. Navy sailor and an Japanese woman. Curry's parents met in Japan, where her father had been stationed since World War II. They were frequently moving due to the military duties of her father. Curry went to high school in the city of Ashland, Oregon. Following her graduation from the University of Oregon, Curry received a bachelor degree in journalism degree in the year 1978. The exposure she received to a variety of cultures and experiences during her growing up years likely contributed to the empathy with which she approaches issues of international significance. Curry could not attend one school in the cities of San Diego, Alameda Oregon or Virginia for two years, due to her family relocated frequently. Ashland is where she finished her high school. Her first job could lead to a successful job by becoming an intern in broadcasting for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. It was her first time as a female news correspondent at this station, at age 22. After that, she moved on to become an anchor and reporter at KGW, an NBC affiliate station in Portland. Then she returned in Los Angeles four years later to work as a reporter for KCBS TV. Two Emmy Awards were won during the six years she worked for TV station KCBS.
